BODALINE

Gueye El Hadji, plus connu sous le nom Boda Line est un artiste sénégalais aux inspirations musicales diverses. C’est en rencontrant Daddy Ely (DJ sur Radio 1) en Gambie que l’artiste découvre de nouveaux genres musicaux : reggae, ragga, dancehall et rap-ragga.

Reconnu comme la « Golden Voice » en Gambie, il connaît un succès grandissant nationalement et commence à se produire en premières parties de groupes importants de musique afro-jamaïcaine et caribéenne tels que Luciano, Anthony B, DanceHall Masters ou encore Rebellion.

Il décide ensuite de se tourner vers la scène hip hop sénégalaise en intégrant le groupe Black Diamonds qui sort son premier opus en 2004. L’année suivante, le groupe est nominé aux Koras African Music d’Afrique du Sud avec son clip « Regards Innocents ». En 2010, Black Diamonds se place deuxième derrière P-Square aux Kora Awards du Burkina Faso avec le titre « Safuloo ». Cette expérience et ces rencontres artistiques vont nourrir la personnalité artistique de Boda Line qui s’exprime aussi bien en patois jamaïcain, qu’anglais, français, portugais ou wolof.

A son arrivée en France en 2004 à Rennes, il est programmé dans certaines salles de la région et dans les sounds-systems. Il rejoint alors le groupe Africana et démarre une tournée en Italie. A la suite de cette expérience, Boda décide de partir à la conquête du public bordelais où il enflamme les salles. La musique très variée de Boda Line lui confère un épanouissement complet sur scène.

GUEYE El hadji, best known of his artist’s name Bodaline, is a Senegalese with true gifts for wide range of vocal tones and musical inspirations. After a long stay in Gambia (west Africa) by 1994, Bodaline improved his vocal capacity and musical universe thanks to Daddy Ely (promoter and former DJ at radio 1. The witty singer began his true career in reggae, ragga, dancehall, rap-ragga… through traditional rhythm. Bodaline seeing his success increased, performed all over Gambian, where he met for the first time Luciano, Anthony B, Dancehall masters, Rebellion… By meeting some senegalese rappers, Boda participated in Black Diamonds first album (B§B- Bon ak Baah) and in that one of Petaw B (dealer). In 2004, Boda came to France (Rennes) and mashed up in big clubs, sound systems. Always, seeking for perfection, the Senegalese artist joined a famous African band named Africana, a melting pot group with of course various styles ( Ndombolo; Rumba, Salsa, Zouk…

After a tour in Italy, Boda afterwards moved to Bordeaux in order to conquer another public mashed up during sound systems, in the biggest clubs, bars and so on so forth. He trapped his audience till Toulouse (Beach Party 2007). In 2008, he participated in the album “Fast Food music”- Ghetto Brut Collabo- (Ta Ka Demander) and in the same year in that of Melting Groov’ “ CONECTYON”- Même Combat- The star of Bodaline was brighter in Bordeaux; he shared stages with DUB LYRICSON, YEAHMAN C, INCORPORATION, ALBOROZIE, MILLION STYLES, BEENIE MAN, DADDY MORY… WA FLASH, OMAR PENE, ABDOU GUITE SECK, (Senegalese known artists). In 2009 Boda released his first single album “First Signature”. The ever evolving ideas and songs of Bodaline, his amazing sense of tunes led him to blossom fully on stages
